Dr. Takashi HASHIMOTO
Takashi Hashimoto graduated from Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan in 1976, and completed his specialist training for dermatology at Keio University Hospital, Tokyo, Japan in 1982. Then, he studied mainly for keratinocyte cell culture at Department of Dermatology, University of Wales College of Medicine from 1982 to 1984. Then, after he worked at Department of Dermatology, Keio University as Assistant Professor, he became Professor and Chairman at Department of Dermatology, Kurume University School of Medicine, Fukuoka, Japan in 1996. From 2010, he concurrently worked as director at Kurume University Institute of Cutaneous Cell Biology, Fukuoka, Japan. In 2017, he moved to Department of Dermatology, Osaka City University Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka, Japan as Specially-Appointed Professor. His major expertise is clinical and basic researches for both autoimmune bullous diseases and hereditary skin diseases. He has performed a number of basic studies mainly using various immunological and molecular biological techniques. His academic activity has resulted in the publication of more than 850 English papers in various peer-reviewed journals so far. Currently, he is a member of Japanese Dermatological Association, and is working as an editorial board member for both Experimental Dermatology and Journal of American Academy of Dermatology.
